Topic of Today: Structuring Your Day for Maximum Efficiency (10:31):

As an OSC, it's important to understand what your non-negotiables are (first priorities):

  • All new lead engagement (be sure to give yourself margin and determine when your day starts!)
  • Inbound calls and answer rate
  • Nurturing leads you do have, and taking care of CRM checkboxes
  • Appointment-setting process and handoff (making sure you're confirming the day before, following-up post-appointment, etc.)
  • Setting aside time for prospecting
  • Quantifying leads, and keeping track of that data
  • Attending sales meetings and presenting yourself as an extension of the team

Best-practices for accomplishing your non-negotiables when your schedule gets busy:

  • Start your day before the calls begin coming in -- enjoy your cup of coffee, set your goals for the day, and be intentional with your time
  • Resist the urge to jump into your email right away, and start with your new leads
  • Aim to fit in a "prospecting power hour" where you can before lunch
  • Take time to give yourself a lunch break and avoid "doom scrolling"
  • Clean up mid-day any leads or emails that came through
  • Set good expectations toward the end of the day and create margin to button up communications

If you are feeling good about your non-negotiables, you can then focus on some secondary priorities:

  • Visiting sites and walking floor plans
  • Shooting marketing content

Skills Check: Take Inventory of Your Responsibilities (33:33):

  • When you sit down and map out everything you do in your role, you will be amazed at how much you have on your plate!
  • Then, you have to Marie Kondo that list and be transparent about your priorities
  • Don't get discouraged if you have a day here and there that doesn't go according to the plan -- you can always try again tomorrow!
